Trevor Ervin is the Director of Bands at Central Hardin High School, overseeing all facets of the band program. He is in his eleventh year of teaching and has been at Central Hardin since 2019. Under his direction, the Central Hardin Bands have consistently received unanimous distinguished ratings at district and state large ensemble performance assessment events. In 2021, the marching band was a Kentucky Marching Band Championships finalist.
Before his tenure at Central Hardin, Mr. Ervin served as the Director of Bands at Bullitt East High School beginning in 2013. In 2018, the Bullitt East Wind Ensemble performed at the KMEA State Conference, and Mr. Ervin received a Citation of Excellence from the National Band Association. Additionally, he was named Outstanding Young Band Director by the Psi Chapter of Phi Beta Mu and the KMEA District 5 High School Teacher of the Year. The Bullitt East marching band was a consistent state semifinalist and a two-time MSBA class champion.
Mr. Ervin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Campbellsville University and his Master’s in Music Education and Teacher Leadership from Western Kentucky University. He is currently enrolled at the University of the Cumberlands, pursuing an Educational Specialist degree.
Professionally, Mr. Ervin serves as the President of the Fourth District Band Directors Association, Band Chair for KMEA District 4, and is a member of the KMEA State Band Council. He is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Kentucky Music Educators Association, and the National Band Association.
He lives in Elizabethtown, KY, with his wife Kali and their canine companion, Lilly Jane. An avid cyclist, Trevor enjoys riding with his local cycling club. He has trained for and completed multiple Century (100-mile) events.
