Tony
Graci, Musician, originally from the Toronto suburbs, started playing drums at
the early age of four and was already absorbing and studying the grooves to
Chuck Berry and The Beatles. His devotion and commitment to music, along with his
gifted natural talents, allowed him to quickly excel in his craft, making him a
young promising and emerging musician.
By the age of eight, he was already playing with an original band and
working club dates.
Tony
grew up in a music loving household where he was frequently exposed to all
genres of music. His major influences
were blues and jazz, but his scope and curiosity went much further. After
graduating from High School, Tony attended the prestigious Berklee College of
Music in Boston on scholarship, where he graduated cum laude after two years.
Following
graduation in Boston, Tony moved to New York City to complete his Masters
Degree in Jazz Performance at the Manhattan School of Music where he was very
fortunate to have studied with renowned musicians Justin DiCioccio and John
Riley. While pursuing his ongoing music career in New York City, Tony
began to rediscover his childhood backbeat roots and got to meet and cultivate
a friendship with his mentor, Steve Jordan. Inspired by Jim Keltner, Al Jackson,
Steve Jordan and Keith Richards, Tony has an organic and fluid approach to a
wide variety of musical styles ranging from Latin/Funk to R&B and Rock.
Tony has performed with artists such as Tom Jones, Moby, Lew Soloff, Felicia
Collins, Fostina Dixon, Steve Turre and Chris Barron of The Spin Doctors.
He
has also played drums on endless amounts of TV and Radio commercials and an
Emmy Award winning Documentary soundtrack. While living in New York City, Tony
worked as an in-house drummer, composer and instrumentalist for Limebeat Music
and Sound NYC. After several years in
the big city Tony made the decision to relocate himself to Music City USA, in
Nashville, to become even more involved with studio work, songwriting and
producing while building closer relationships with artist and songwriters. After only a couple of years in Nashville,
Tony has played with Grammy Award winning groups like The Amazing Rhythm Aces
and Delbert McClinton along with other such artists as Leroy Parnell and Bekka
Bramlet.
Tony
maintains a busy schedule in which he also composes music for film and
television. He writes songs that reflect
his diverse tastes--from Rock and R&B to pop and jazz music. "I'm a
drummer at heart," says Graci, "But I've found that by exploring
other instruments, a whole new world has opened up for me." Tony’s
versatility, and skill have made him the exceptional and accomplished drummer
he is today. He is currently writing, recording and performing music for
the TV hit series Duck Dynasty, as well as a host of other top rated TV
programs on A&E, History, Discovery, HBO and Cinemax.
