Tromell Blassingame, Drummer/Musician, has woven a unique blend of his gospel rooted sounds with his love for vintage R&B, jazz, and pop to create a peculiar, yet bold, rudimental driven, flavorful fusion of clean and crisp rhythmic yet intricate funk beats and sounds that adds a new dimension to any genre of music.

Tromell’s study of music began as a student of his father, Thomas Blassingame-also an accomplished drummer in the Southeast region. Tromell proceeded further to minor in music at Grambling State University, where he was a member of the Grambling State University Marching Tiger Band in 1993, and where he also became a Charter Member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America on May 27, 1996.

Tromell’s professional portfolio includes tours with national recording artists such as Edwin McCain, Shirley Murdock, Mary Griffin, and Christopher Williams. Tromell has performed with national R&B and Gospel recording artists Jesse Powell, Angela Winbush, Gerald Austin, Pastor Shirley Caesar, the late Reverend James L. Moore, James Bignon, and Tracy Shy. Performances in theatres include the 1993 Anderson Production play entitled A Struggle to be Free, he was the Musical Director and Drummer for the 2006 NTyme Production stage play entitled Church Folk, and most recently toured with the nationally acclaimed stage play, Man of her Dreams.

Tromell currently resides in Greenville, SC. You can also visit Tromell at www.tromell.com and/or www.myspace.com/tromellb.
